Another funeral in New Jersey today : Elmeryl Alicia Lisette Davies

 Sorrow and anguish in the Sierra Leone community in New Jersey continues with another funeral today in the Garden State . Ms. Elmeryl Alicia Lisette Davies of East Brunswick, NJ who died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday January 8, 2013 will be laid to rest today at the Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick after funeral service at the  Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 568 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick .

OBITUARY :

EAST BRUNSWICK – ELMERYL ALICIA LISETTE DAVIES — Died on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at her home. She was 45 years old.

Born in Freetown – Sierra Leone, she attended the Leone Preparatory Primary School, St. Joseph’s Convent and Freetown Secondary School for Girls, and then proceeded to Glasgow, Scotland where she graduated with a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Glasgow. She relocated to the US and completed a M.Sc. in Chemistry from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ.

After completion of her post-graduate studies, she resided in Maplewood, NJ, before moving to East Brunswick, NJ, where she has resided with her family since 1998. She was a school teacher for several years, then chose to be a stay-at-home mom and homeschool her own children.

She was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, East Brunswick, New Jersey.

She was predeceased by her father Elmsley Davis.

Surviving her, are her husband of 20 years, Julian; their five beloved sons, Jarel, Callan, Reyden, Leland, and Delvyn; her dear mother Beryl Davis; along with many family and friends around the world.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 10 AM at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 568 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick under the direction of The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, East Brunswick. Please go directly to the church beginning at 9 AM. Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. In honor of the wonderful person that Elmeryl was and the beautiful life she lived and continues to live through her sons, the family is requesting that for this ceremony we celebrate the richness and happiness of Elmeryl’s life with color and joy, and not in black or grey.

Elmeryl’s life revolved around her beloved sons, and she dedicated herself to the education, character and cultural enrichment of her boys through homeschooling, and having them involved in various organizations including Boys Scouts, Civil Air Patrol, Church Youth Group, etc. Although, she has left to answer the highest calling, her life and legacy on this earth continues through her boys, for which we are thankful and praise god.
