Sources close to the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC), have informed this writer that, at their Inaugural Meeting held in the Top Floor Conference Room of the APC National Headquarters today Thursday May 24th 2018, the members of the 9-Man Committee set up by the APC National Advisory Committee (NAC) to look into reasons why the party lost the 2018 presidential elections, have nominated and chosen *Ambassador Dr. Tom Oballeh Kargbo* to be the Chairman of the 9-Man Committee.


*Hon. Dr. Abdulai Osman Conteh,* former Vice-President of Sierra Leone, who chaired the Inaugural meeting was also unanimously chosen to be the Co-Chair.

*Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden,* the former Special Executive Assistant to President Koroma, former Gender Minister and a noted prolific writer, was also unanimously chosen to be the Secretary to the 9-Man Committee.

NAC set up the Committee to be though small in number but also as broad-based as possible with gender, regional and diaspora considerations. It is composed of very eminent APC Comrades as follows:

*Eastern Province:*
Dr. David Tam-Baryoh (of Kono),

*Northern Province:*
(Ambassador Dr. Tom Oballeh Kargbo)

*North-Western Province:*

*Western Area:*
(Former Mayor Winstanley Bankole Johnson, Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden)

_The party HQ sources inform this writer that a formal press release with more details of how the Committee will hold sittings is expected to be out subsequently. Meanwhile, here below is the press release issued to announce the creation of the Committee._
The All Peoples Congress informs its membership and the general public that the National Advisory Committee (NAC) of the party for the first time after the March 2018 elections met on Thursday May 17, 2018 at the party HQ.
Among many other issues discussed, NAC adopted the motion to set up a nine-man committee to investigate the circumstances leading to the party’s defeat in the March 2018 presidential elections and report to NAC not later than six weeks from today’s date.
The committee is further mandated to elicit relevant information from all persons (including members), agents, organization and organs of the party with a view to making recommendations to NAC for a positive way forward.
