PDF Print E-mail

The discovery of telephone in the technology era was a mystery. The discovery of teleconference calling is an innovation of the use of telephone. However, to host a town hall-like meeting through teleconference call is an absolute creativeness of the searching minds of the KAFO camp of Unisa Kanu and Mohammed Lamin Fofanah. Now what?  These guys can argue that they are truly educated in Western civilization because they can tap on technology effortlessly. Until yesterday, starting at 9:30 p.m., some of us would have been surprised to find out that we can successfully host a town hall meeting without leaving our comfortable homes.

With creativity and technological savvy, the KAFO camp had successfully launched its town hall meeting while other rival camps are saving money to travel by air and by road to meet potential voters miles and miles away.

The set up was displayed by a professional workmanship: The meeting was moderated by Mr. Mohammed Aziz Nabe of the New Jersey chapter while Mr. Banister Koroma controlled an equipment diffracting noise interfering with communication between the aspirants and attendees. Without a doubt, I sensed the importance of Mr. Banister koroma of the Atlanta, Georgia chapter, who is the incumbent   National Organizing Secretary in the North American Diaspora office. He simultaneously muted and unmated all mobile phones dialed to enter the teleconference call. There were times that he asked all participants to unmute their own cell phones whenever their turns were due to ask questions or state their concerns.
Teleconference call meeting is advantageous not only in the sense that it can get as many callers to speak on the same line, but it also helps put the candidate in touch with the voters, verse-versa.

In conclusion, Mr. Unisa I.B. Kanu of Atlanta, Georgia Chapter and Mohammed Lamin Fofanah of D.C. Metropolitan chapter are taking the leadership role in innovation and technology among the aspirants vying for the office of Chairman and Vice Chairmanship in the North American Diaspora. They have been very professional in their campaign and constantly being creative. They pursue less cost effective means to reach all voters and win the election in Columbus, Ohio on January 15, 2009.
I hope all other aspirants would follow suit. “If you can’t beat the man, join him.”
