National Elections Commission and its incessant blunders!!! What the people say

 NEC and it’s incessant blunders!!!

Nfa Alie has done it again to have declared MOHAMED KAYEA (C4C) with 1543 votes instead of MATTU SUMANA (APC) who polled the highest votes of 1669.
Nfa Alie is a serious case in this elections with unbearable blunders.

Rush to fulfil a mandate but damn the consequences of such botched job.

Sadly all international observers missions gave him the cover by their rush to declare a farce election credible, fair, transparent just for expediency. Obviously, they seems not to have learnt any lessons from Kenya and continue to leave a trail of bogus electoral outcomes as they no doubt are now turning to the next poorly run election in the next African country.

Isatu Smith But I really wonder whether it is incompetence or deliberate criminal conduct. There’s little goodwill on their part. I think they are highly competent but grossly criminal. These are deliberate ‘errors.

Donald Bash-taqi CALAMITOUS RECKLESSNESS of the highest level

Ziazie Juj Bendu So sad

Amadu Massally Sure Sheka, but NEC had started with contravention of The Public Elections Act, 2012 since registration, release of polling center information and the list of all candidates, and to now a potentially systematic rigging effort… yet we are dtill moving on with the same institution into a runoff grounded on broken legs. That is what I meant by “unabated” in this context.

Amadu Massally Daddy, that does not relieve them of their incompetence, I am sure you would agree. And the Commissioner signed it. Which is a worrying trend on its own.
Pierre Dumbuya I entirely agree with you Amadu Massally. Gross incompetence on their part compounded by Nfa Allie signing it off. Perhaps he should do the honourable thing and resign
KINDLY ASKING THE WHOLE WORLD TO EXAMINE THIS RESULTS POSTED AND ENDORSED BY NEC ….See broad daylight robbery . Shame on NEC for declaring the RUNNER UP, THE WINNER .

THE HYSTERIA IGNITED BY NEC TO CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY IS ABYSMAL FOR OUR DEMOCRACY.

Some Sierra Leoneans might posit to be apolitical, but that would not limit their minds to the peace they yearn for their country.

Hitherto, the alleged incompetency and under performance in results collation and announcement made by the National Electoral Commission in the just concluded elections without breaking the final results into wards, constituencies and regions have put many of these politically minded and apolitical citizens into worry.

It’s apparent that most citizens that once held that confidence, trust and respect for the body mandated to conduct our 2018 general elections have grossly lost it in the 1st rounds count of the polls. Many have held on the view that NEC has created room for mistrust and questioning due to the way and manner in which the results were dashed out to the public.

NEC should be and always be seen as an institution that’s built upon the pillars of credibility, independent, transparency, and with their democratic precedents. However, the just concluded elections that signaled a runoff was in actual fact a sham; many photos of ballot boxes being carried in the head from one point to another without proper monitoring, couple up with some photos and footages of some NEC polling staffs engaging in dubious activities rendered the process improbable.

Though I might be wrong but I’m inclined to say that, an injunction or at least a further probe by the government should be taken to unearth the hidden activities of some NEC personel that have left so many people irritated.

Sierra Leone is known to have got one of the most robust and steadied Electoral Commission Institution in Africa, but this is about to be robbed off if we give a penchant to the already suspected NEC. We must unite as a people and tell N’fa Alie and his team that the peace of this nation has been entrusted to them. And he (N’fa Alie) can make an unmake this nation through his decision.

The irregularities in the first polls have left so many people including my father in Kantia village to keep asking on issues that are very strenuous to respond to, especially the abnormalities NEC meted to Sierra Leoneans .

N’fa Alie and staff should not forget that we are living in the age of computer and phones backed up with sophisticated internets, so anything that goes beyond the values they vow to uphold, then information will be leaked out to the general populace and that could send a very alarming threat to the peace we all fought for. Integrity in every form counts on an individual and we are calling on the NEC chairman to uphold it.

To be candid, the results were not empirically evidence-based; they lack accuracy and credibility.

The most appalling situation is that, majority of citizens in different localities, wards, constituencies, and even municipalities are yet to know their certified Parliamentarians, Councillors and Mayors/Chairpersons.

Frustratingly since the pronouncement of the outcome of the elections results, series of protests and complaints from many contenders demanding for recounts of ballot papers keep on swelling everyday. And this is very worrisome.

This unfolding conditions have precipitated many to raise their voices by asking series of questions.

==Is NEC with all indications credible enough to conduct the run off election?.

==Is “korthor” N’fa Alie has the competent skills to shoulder the mantle of leadership as National Returning Officer?.

==Do NEC really understand what exactly they are doing?.

==Is NEC not conspiring with a bunch of rogues to undermine our fruitful democracy into a fragile one?.
==Will NEC restore lost confidence?.

==Will they be able to regain their reputation?

The aforementioned are frequently asked questions in opinion polls by concerned citizens, and answers are needed by the very NEC personnel themselves.

A sensitive question that people keep on asking is the one that has to do with our evil, sorry to say civil society. What are their position in this unprecedented occurrence at this trying moment? I’m cock sure they keep their lips tight and pretending not to know what is unfolding in the country.
Why the so-called mouthy civil society that quickly gave credence to the elections as free and fair without even waiting for the final outcomes of the entire elections are not condemning this evil acts?
Are they hypocritically turning blind eyes to this despicable alleged orchestrated drama that may fan or breed animosity?.

The MEDIA, what are you doing? Are you no longer playing the watchdog role or is it that you have become a lapdog or a toothless barking dog?

Moreover and most importantly, what do the key players (the political parties) have done or planning to do towards this appalling and oddity occurrence?

We demand a comprehensive report and an apology from NEC chairperson, N’fa Alie because the hysteria NEC has ignited to many of us is damn too abysmal for our flourishing democracy .

SALONE NORTO ONE MAN YONE O…LEH DEM NOR IMPOSE PAN WE UDAT NOR WIN O!

NEC IN SERIOUS DILEMMA INTEGRITY.

NEC IS GRADUALLY PROVING THAT THEY ARE NOT REALLY COMMITTED TO A CREDIBLE & PEACEFUL PROCESS.
WHAT’S ALL THIS DRAMA FOR?
N’fa Alie Conteh is the most incompetent NEC chairman I have ever seen in Sierra Leone. To save his family name from further disgrace/embarrassment, it is better for him to graciously resign from the job or else he face Gods’ wrath.
