Foreign Minister Zainab Bangura attends Ministerial session of 16th Ordinary Session of the AU

The 14th Ordinary Session Assembly of Heads of State of the African Union will take place from 31st January to 2nd February 2010 at the United Nations Conference Centre in Addis Ababa.
During the sidelines of the conference, Minister Bangura held crucial, successful and fruitful meetings with the following: Mr. Zhai Jun, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government and Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of the Peoples Republic of China; His Excellency Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Leader of India’s delegation to the AU Summit; Madam Baroness Kinnock, Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs and Leader of the British delegation; His Excellency Chief Ojo Maduekwe, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nigeria; His Excellency Sam Kutesa, Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Uganda and His Excellency Tetsuro Fukuyama, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Japan.
This year’s Summit is themed: ‘Information and Communication Technologies in Africa: Challenges and Prospects for Development.’
The meeting was also attended by His Excellency Andrew Bangali, Sierra Leone’s Mr. Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Permanent Representative (PR) to the African Union and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa; Mr. Amadu Koroma, Sierra Leone’s Deputy Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia; Mr. Rupert Davies, Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative to Sierra Leone’s Permanent Mission to United Nations in New York and Mr. Christopher Bockarie, Second Secretary at the Sierra Leone Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
