Dear Comrade (Sorry – eem- Doctor? Take your choice) Hindowa Batillo Hugbateh Momoh; Defeated FBC Presidential Candidate, Ex NUSS President, Kalamazoo Beneficiary, NEC Executive Officer….

HINDOWAMOMOH

HINDOWA MOMOH

This is a voice of the past calling you to order! It pains my heart to read about the yuki-yuki you have involved yourself with so soon. I know you to be a ruthless politician, but note that the population of Sierra Leone far exceed the FBC audience you courted but failed to have their votes as President in 1992. Neither does the population of NUSS you represented by some clandestine and dubious means would equate the electorates you are presently toying with.
Your ruthlessness as an apprentice politician made you not to see reasons to reconcile with the Late Alpha Juma Silah(remember him) after he trashed you at the 1992 FBC polls. You swore by your Wonde society that you will never speak to Juma Sillah again. Why? Just because Juma in his usual flamboyant speech said of you and your cabal that ‘the dynastic baton has fallen’.Those of us who supported you did not see anything in that statement that warranted your hatred for him.All politicians make emotionally charged speeches. But no, your pride would not let you bite the bullet. It is not too late Batillo to go to Juma’s grave and reconcile. I think he was buried somewhere in the Western Area. Based on this, I know that you will never imagine been ruled by an APC government, not to talk of reconcile, eh?. This explains why you are going out of your way to ensure that the SLPP is returned to power even against the people’s wish. Non Sibi Sed Alis, Comrade; Not Forself But For Others, remember?

April 30Th, 1992: On that Bright morning at Mount Aureol, a young miltary officer- Valentine Strasser, who could not distinguish between the past and present tense of the verb ‘tell’, formally announced to students that he and his men have overthrown the APC, thus soliciting the support of students in the form of a solidarity march. Whilst some of us students were apprehensive about a military rule, you and most south-eastener students immediately towed the line and danced all the way to the national stadium. Poor Strasser, if only he knew that he was been used by your Godfathers- John Benjamin and John Karimu. You know what suprised me about you that morning? Everyone at FBC knew that you were so posh that you never wore trainers, except designer shoes. But that day you wore a pair of crepe and danced like a dance of macabre. Actually, it did down to us all later that we did need to change the status quo. But has it changed with your current masters in power? Is there hope? Non Sibi Sed Alis, Comrade; Not Forself But For Others.

But I know you won’t listen to my advice. You were a Macheavelli as a politician apprentice, I suppose you won’t change. But in your quiet moment has it ever occured to you that the building that houses your present office, was an industrial estate that used to boom under the regime we clamoured to change? What have your masters done in terms of infrastructures? Nat. So once the donors pull out,and assuming this rotten government is still in place, you would be content with squatting somewhere else ehn? Nope you would tow the queue of ‘Jonahcracy’. The’evil’ APC you so hate left an Elections office structure. It is up there at State Avenue, occupied by the hoipolois of society. You prefer it that way, as long as it satisfied some political incorrectnes. But what do we expect from a government that destroyed rather than build. Not to talk of imbibing the culture of maintenance.

Batillo, even the jeep you are parading with now, comes from donations. Was this the utopian world we envisaged as student..Non Sibi Sed Alis?

What ever you do Hindowa Batillo Hugbateh Momoh, don’t tamper with the people’s will. The bloody nose Juma Sillah gave you was by far a rehearsal; this time round, we shall rub your nose in it. Qui Sera Sera!

Comrades you struck a chord. Batillo will never change. Rumor has it he’s got a hand in Juma’s death. I said it!!! It beats me that he got such a position in the electoral commission. Who knows, how a guy that researched chieftaincy can be granted a PHD? Heaven forbids he is tutoring our kids at FBC. Hindowa will always remain a Savimbi who will always resort to rebel tactics for political power. Whatever happened to his Squelar Languba and the Gardeners team?
On another note, you remind me of comrades like Dave Francis, Manzao, Mr. Freetown (Gibs) and the entire gang. Please
