President Koroma to attend AU Summit in Rwanda

Freetown: July 14, 2016

The general public is hereby informed that His Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma will leave Freetown Friday, July 15, 2016 to attend the 27th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) in Kigali, Rwanda.

His Excellency the President will participate in high-level deliberations on this year’s theme:

“2016: African Year of Human Rights with a Particular Focus on the Rights of Women”.

In his capacity as Coordinator of the Committee of Ten (C-10), His Excellency the President will also report on the outcome of the regional consultations he held with his colleague Heads of State of Chad, Egypt, Zimbabwe and South Africa on the African Union consensus for Africa to secure two permanent and five non-permanent seats in the Security Council of the United Nations.

His Excellency the President and his entourage are expected back to the country Monday, July 18, 2016.
