Sierra Leone Participates at ‘2017 International Industrial Capacity Cooperation Forum and the 9th China Overseas Investment Fair’

Sierra Leone through her Embassy is participating at the 2017 International Industrial Capacity Cooperation Forum and the 9th China Overseas Investment Fair being held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing on 21 and 22 November 2017.

The 2017 International Industrial Capacity Cooperation Forum and the 9th China Overseas Investment Fair aims to pursue the Belt and Road Initiative and promote international cooperation on production capacity.

It is being organized by China Overseas Development Association, with approval from the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China.

With ‘Deepen the Global Capacity Cooperation and Boost ‘the Belt and Road’ Construction” as a theme, the Fair also focuses on implementing the “world cooperation of production capability” and propelling the development of “the Belt and Road” collaboration.

Opening the ceremony on Tuesday, 21st November, in Beijing was He Zhenwei, secretary-general of China Overseas Development Association (CODA).

He Zhenwei emphasized the improvement of the Chinese economy which, he said “can support the international production capacity cooperation and higher-level mutual investment.”

In attendance from the Sierra Leone Embassy were Mrs. Kumba Alice Momoh, Minister/ Chargé d’ Affaires; Mrs. Augusta Akibo-Jones, Counsellor; Colonel Sajor Daramy, Defence Attaché; Mr. Robert Koroma, First Secretary; and the Information and Press Attaché.

Also attending are representatives from dozens of nations.

Mrs. Momoh will on Wednesday, 22nd November deliver a statement on Sierra Leone’s potentials at a sub-forum on ‘China-Africa International Industry Capacity and Investment.’
