U.S. commends Sierra Leone for peaceful run-off

United States Embassy has commended Sierra Leone on the calm and orderly conduct of the presidential run-off election held on September 8 this year.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission and the Sierra Leone Police deserve continued praise for their impartiality and professionalism demonstrated throughout the electoral process,” a release from the US Embassy in Freetown states.

The US urged Sierra Leoneans to continue their laudable respect and patience for the integrity of the electoral process as the vote tally are being certified by the NEC in preparation of the final announcement of the results later in the week.
