Guinea must treat our citizens with respect and love to reciprocate our love for Guineans in Sierra Leone

Regrettably, these were the same Jamba smokers or sellers, kush barons n salone raray, boys as u called them, in those slums mamadi Dumbuya used for his revolution to succeed in d first place. These are people that have lived there since all the past presidents, they begot children who pays taxes, speak susu, french and many local Guinean dialects move than many of their citizens.

In Guinea it’s very hard to meet and identify many Sierra LEONEANS unless you are familiar with them. At first hand in 2022 I realized I that over 80% of workers employed on casual basis are working for their city councils filth clearing, construction of all the new roads in and outside Conakry with the Chinese companies, alongside other infrastructure mamadi Dumbuya and native Guineans are proud of today.
Most Sierra LEONEANS are petty traders and d commerce law of french Guiana doesn’t give them a fair competition.

Above all this, I can remember during the rebel war in Sierra Leone many of our people along the borderline with guinea _ north or south crossed over to guinea. Those fortune to arrive in Conakry all converged at the Sierra Leone embassy then situated at Belvie…arompong…Amb shekuba Saccoh d uncle of K_MAN the musician was in charge then. The population of refugee in that premise was overwhelming. Something happened relating to the misuse of the internet or communication technology sparked following huge calls made by refugees to contact their relations abroad or elsewhere for support. Guinean Security forces forcefully entered the embassy to effect some arrests of alleged internet fraudsters but Amb shekuba Saccoh as a man of high character and disciplined leader carefully handled d matter with Guinean authorities to resolve peacefully without causing any diplomatic row. By then Lansana conteh was president.

Both d ambassador, head of chancery n embassy staff worked together tirelessly and put caution to our people n the situation changed. Normal relations continued in harmony between both sisterly nations till when d war was declared done in 2002. Some decided to return some decided to stay till date.

I witnessed all of this brohaha in 1994 while I was going in search of my elder brother who crossed from Kono axis to KONDOU Refugee camp in Gaekaedu…. hundreds of miles from Conakry. As a young officer I reached out to the embassy and sought a lessez passe which the ambassador Mr shekuba sankoh signed himself for free access in the country for a period of one month. After I’ve located Abdul Rahman kamara n other few known compatriots, I arranged they contigent travelling expenses and they promised to return to freetown at a later date. I returned to Conakry after 2 days n got back to my embassy for debriefing. I finally returned to freetown. The road from Sierra Leone to Conakry n around guinea were nothing to write home about at that time.

However, I’m only highlighting these chronicled events just to remind us all about the cordial relationship that have existed between the 2 people for our citizens to deserve such degrading treatment.
After all the labor n indignation to help develop guinea…now is what we deserve.
I believe there was a better way to carry out such exercise between authorities of both countries rather than the way and manner it is done this time around.

Nobody would countenance his citizens to contravene our laws, so also should respect d laws of any place u decide to domicile. We are part of the MRU and there are existing protocols to apply to respective citizens. But in this case it’s different.
Why should I not place the blames of neglect our citizens around guinea to the current ambassador Alimamy or so n d administration in freetown??

These things do not happen by accident or overnight…. it’s been evolving over time and am sure d military hunter have been expressing their frustrations to the embassy in Conakry. Because d embassy n our government seems complacent, therefore, this is the end product.
I can vividly remember that this same mamadi Dumbuya forcefully evicted his own citizens from areas Government intends to take infrastructural development….one such popular area is around DUNCAN …Government offices , the central mosque, gendamarine barracks etc. r centralized there.

So if mamadi Dumbuya can be firm with his people for development purposes, how much other citizens.
Unfortunately for Sierra Leone, there are many Liberians, Malians, Ghanian, ivorians etcetera who are more dangerous in the slums of Conakry in terms of crime n insecurity but yet they are protected.
Why is our own case is different and yet compatriots are celebrating the abuse of our own??
If our country 🇸🇱 is good to go why should young men and women don’t give their service to our local council works, road works n other development projects but instead invested their energy to guinea only to be used, misused and dumped without any compensation or recognition???

Something urgent has to be done to settle the problem…. otherwise posterity will not be kind to guinea n it’s people.
Whether these guyz identified themselves with d embassy or not as d embassy is trying to cover-up….they have the right to be fully protected n justly treated at all cost.
