Sierra Leone and Cameroon have played to a goalless draw in their Africa Nations Cup Group D Qualifier in Yaounde, Cameroon.
Going into this game Cameroon were top of the group and Sierra Leone bottom. The teams will meet again on the very same ground, Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde, on October 15.
Due to the Ebola outbreak, CAF decided that both matches will be played in Cameroon.
Sierra Leone were the most dangerous side of the two in the first half, with the attacking pair of Woobay Julius and Ahlassan Kamara causing a lot of trouble for the Cameroonian defence and their goalkeeper Joseph Ondoa.
The Lions of Cameroon’s striking pair Clinton Njie and Vincent Aboubakar struggled to find their magic again in the first 45 minutes.
Cameroon tried to push forward after the break when Moukandjo’s cross found Eric Choupo-Moting whose header flew over the crossbar followed by Moukandjo’s strike just off target in the 55th minute.
Clinton Njie came close to opening the score in the 67th off a Moukandjo cross, but good goalkeeping by Sierra Leone’s keeper Solomon Zomobo kept them at bay.
Cameroon’s substitute striker Leonard Kweuke came close with a powerful diving header off Guihota’s cross in extra-time, but the attempt was off target.
The two teams settled for a share of the points. Both sides had their chances, but failed to find the back of the net.

Cameroon Held By Leone Stars
Afcon Qualifying Report: Sierra Leone 0-0 Cameroon 11 October 2014
Cameroon maintained their unbeaten run in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with a goalless draw against Sierra Leone in a match played at the Stade Omnisport, to remain at the top of Group D with seven points from three matches.
Cameroon, who won their two previous match against DR Congo and Ivory Coast, looked the better side from the word go as they looked to stretch their lead at the top.
The striking duo of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Vincent Aboubakar were influential in attack for Cameroon, but struggled to break Sierra Leone’s defence, despite their early dominance.
Sierra Leone also created their own chances to get a goal with Alhaji Kamara squandering the chances created to cause an upset against Cameroon.
The match headed to the half time without goals.
In the second half, Cameroon continued to pile the pressure on Sierra Leone, as the hoped to make it three wins from their opening three matches, but Leone Stars were very organised in defence.
Sierra Leone, who lost their two previous matches to Congo DR and Ivory Coast, managed to fight to the end of the game, after frustrating the Indomitable Lions for the whole of the afternoon, to get away with their first point of the qualifiers.
