Following the outbreak of the Ebola pandemic in the country, the Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Addis Ababa has written Notes Verbale requesting support from Embassies, the African Union Commission, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and Sierra Leone’s traditional donor partners informing about the Ebola crisis in the region.

Some Missions have started receiving encouraging feedbacks from their respective capitals by way of assurances.
The African Union Commission is at the moment putting modalities in place to respond to the Embassy’s request and the sub region as a whole.
The Sierra Leone Community in Ethiopia has started making encouraging individual financial donations to the Embassy after the latter launched an appeal for financial assistance to be made towards Government’s efforts in the fight against the virus in the country.
On the other hand, His Excellency, Mr. Osman Keh Kamara, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has paid courtesy calls on some Ambassadors regarding the issue.
