Sierra Leone about to be plunged into total darkness as Karpowership decides to cut off electricity because of SLPP Government’s failure to pay debt

The Sierra Leone Government itself has warned citizens that massive blackouts will begin this weekend because the Turkish Karpowership supplying electricity to the city will be switching off most essential services .

The ship will also be leaving the shores of the coastal capital, if the SLPP Government does not pay the nearly $ 100 million arrears owed it .

Freetown will be plunged into total darkness  as the ship will disconnect electricity supply.

But President Bio ‘s government has assured the nation that it will use alternative sources of electricity to provide limited power to the city during the coming months.

The government warned in press release that there will however be load shedding.

Government officials are privately warning citizens to buy pan lamps and hurricane lamps as a matter of urgency to avoid reverting to stone- age darkness in Sierra Leone.

What has been most classic about the situation are the speed and candor with which the Bio government swiftly came out to break the news to the people.  Even the usually evasive State House Director of Information, Myk Betewa, posted this frank news on his Facebook page :

Meanwhile, President Bio has assured SLPP supporters that he will not stop gallivanting the globe and he will continue his safari around the world.
