Sierra Leone’s President, His Excellency Dr Ernest Bai Koroma is currently participating in the Peace and Security Council meeting on the margins of the 26th Ordinary Session of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Addis Ababa.
The summit is looking at the activities of the council and the state of peace and security in Africa. The summit, which is being chaired by President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea, is expected to discuss the broader issues of peace and security (Development) within the context of the increasing spate of terrorism, particularly the recent terrorist activities in South Sudan, human trafficking, xenophobia, the environment, human rights abuse and political stability as the current situation in Burundi and the continent’s response to these challenges.
Immediately following this meeting, President Koroma will attend a dinner interaction with the Sierra Leone community in Addis Ababa where he is expected to showcase government’s strides in the fight against the Ebola virus disease and ongoing efforts in the implementation of post-Ebola recovery programmes.
