The attention of the All Peoples Congress party has been drawn to rumours making rounds on social media, insinuating the Sierra Leone Police has not granted Police clearance to the Party to hold its Peace Outing scheduled to take place on Saturday 8th December 2018 at Bureh beach and that a particular gang of troublemakers intend to kill someone wearing red on that day during the event.
The Party Wishes to inform its membership and the general public that Police clearance was received several days before advertising the event and that no gang of troublemakers intend to disrupt the event.
Consequently, these rumours making rounds on social media are baseless and a deliberate ploy by detractors to instill fear in the minds of members of the Party and the general public and by so doing undermine the envisaged successful outcome of the event.
The Party is assuring its membership and the general public of maximum Police security and that the event will go on as planned.
Detractors are also admonished to desist from such negative social media postings and warned that any attempt by them or any group of persons to disrupt the event will be dealt with in accordance with the laws.
Members and the general public who wish to be part of this great day should continue with their arrangements and also endeavour to grab their tickets now at the designated points.
