HISTORIC GAMBIA RETREAT : APC TO SIT DOWN, TALK AND RESOLVE THE PARTY’S PROBLEMS

By Kabs Kanu

The still Mighty All People’s Congress ( APC ) will sit down like a family in Banjul , talk and resolve the problems holding back the party and threatening to jettison its hopes of wrestling back power from the oppressive and tyrannical Sierra Leone People’s Party ( SLPP) Government.

Competent sources within the APC have told the COCORIOKO NEWSPAPER that Sierra Leone’s biggest and most popular grassroots political bastion will be going to Banjul, the Gambia on a very serious business that will have significant ramifications not only for the party but the nation as a whole.

The people of Sierra Leone are suffering horribly. Frustration and anger with the SLPP for its failed promises to the people are spreading throughout the nation and the realization that the APC is the only hope of redemption for the people has dawned even more deeply into members and made it more imperative than ever for the APC to unite and come back to liberate the people through still lingering hopes of electoral justice or democratic elections in 2028.

Leaders of the APC have declared that while all options are open and still on the table, they are not going to put all their eggs in one basket, given the formidable challenges the APC is facing presently, including the indecisiveness , double standards and hypocrisy of moral guarantors and international stakeholders .

The APC is a family party and depends on constructive engagement of its cadres, comrades, vanguard and rank and file to seek harmonious and inclusive solutions to its teething problems.

The APC is therefore calling upon all its supporters at home and abroad to give premium to the Banjul Retreat and to explore all possibilities to be there from December 19 to 22, to join party leaders and members members who are determined to bury the hatchet for once and move on in the supreme interest of the party and the nation.

It is believed that arrangements are afoot to hire buses to convey supporters and officials from Sierra Leone who are not disposed to fly by plane to Banjul. Some leading and grassroots members of the APC in the diaspora have already started making ticket and itinerary arrangements for the flight to Banjul to attend the Retreat.

We will bring you more details in subsequent editions .
