Sierra Leone’s First Lady says she was treated like a street girl by MPs in Parliament

The First Lady of Sierra Leone,  Mrs .Fatima Bio, has protested in an audio that she was treated like a street girl by rowdy MPs when she entered Parliament last Thursday to mark the state opening of the House.

Mrs. Bio made the statement while giving her own version of events that transpired in Parliament and that  has raised public furor both over the rudeness demonstrated to her by Parliamentarians and her own apparent retaliation by dishonoring the President of Sierra Leone by refusing to honor parliamentary protocols.

Mrs. Bio gave a comprehensive account of the manner MPs ganged up against her and teased her , singing the discourteous and vulgar song  “YOU COCOA ROAST O” at her while she entered Parliament. In the local parlance, the satirical song personifies street girls or prostitutes who had lost their vital sexual allure.

The First Lady also gave a detailed analysis of the deadly rivalries now besetting the ruling SLPP ,which has created ugly factions fighting to propel their choice candidates to win the recent SLPP lower-level and executive elections.
