President Joe Biden of the United States of America will be sending his Under Secretary of State for Africa, Molly Phee to Sierra Leone next week.
According to diplomatic sources, the purpose of the visit is to discuss with President Bio’s government, members of the Elections Management Bodies (EMBs) including Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL), Political Parties Regulations Commission (PPRC), Security Sector, Political Parties and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) on the June 24th Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Council elections in Sierra Leone.
The Under Secretary will also discuss among other issues, the forthcoming elections, deepening and consolidating the peace, democracy and good governance and which role the American government will play to support the government and people of Sierra Leone achieve this.
The International Community demands transparent, credible, inclusive and participatory elections and it outcome must reflect the will of the people.
