Freetown, Sierra Leone – In a historic move that is set to change the political landscape of Sierra Leone, the Consortium of Progressive Political Parties (COPPP) has officially endorsed Dr Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara as their Presidential candidate for the 24 June Elections.
At an event held in Freetown this morning, the COPPP spokesperson announced the endorsement of Dr. Kamara, citing his leadership qualities, experience, and vision for the country as the reasons for their support.
“We are thrilled to announce our endorsement of Dr Samura Kamara as our Presidential candidate for the upcoming elections,” said the COPPP spokesperson. “Dr. Kamara’s track record of delivering results and promoting economic growth in Sierra Leone makes him the best candidate to lead our country into a brighter future.”
Dr Samura MW Kamara, a renowned economist and former Minister of Finance, has played a pivotal role in the development of Sierra Leone, spearheading numerous initiatives aimed at tackling poverty and improving the welfare of citizens. His contributions include spearheading the preparation and roll out of the ‘Agenda for Change’ and ‘Agenda for Prosperity’ under Dr Ernest Bai Koroma’s Presidency which saw the successful implementation of the free healthcare initiative for pregnant women and children under five and the construction of many vital roads. Dr Kamara championed the establishment of key institutions including the NRA, NASITT, NPPA and Decentralisation structures.
Dr Samura Kamara was honoured to receive the endorsement of the COPPP. He did this with the greatest humility and determination to serve this nation.
