The Sierra Leone Police has invited Dr. Samura Kamara to the Criminal Investigations Department ( CID ) for calling himself President.
Dr. Samura Kamara was the flagbearer of the opposition All People’s Congress ( APC ) in the 2018 and 2023 presidential elections in Sierra Leone, both of which were declared by the Elections Commission to have been won by President Maada Bio.
But the 2023 election result is still being hotly disputed . Local and international elections observers described the results as questionable and accused the elections commission of not being transparent in the tallying of the results.
They and international stakeholders demanded the disaggregated results from the polling stations but the Elections Commission refused to produce them.
