With great sadness, we announce the death of Madam Zuliatu Cooper, former Deputy Minister -2, Ministry of Health and Sanitation. Madam Cooper died at her Hill Station residence in Freetown after a protracted illness.
Madam Cooper has served in several other capacities at national level as well as the All People’s Congress (APC) party. As head of Western Area Rural District Ebola Taskforce, she was very pivotal in the government’s effort to defeat the deadly outbreak. As Secretary General for the APC Women’s Congress, Cooper played an important role in transforming the Women’s Congress into a formidable arm of the APC Party.
Madam Zuliatu Cooper was a selfless servant of Sierra Leone, championing many charitable causes. As a leading candidate for the leadership of the APC Women’s Congress, Zuliatu Cooper was an important figure within the rank and file of the APC – the party she dearly cherished until her last breath.
She will be sadly missed by Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad.
The remains of the late Zuliatu Cooper will be laid at the APC Party Headquarters at 1pm tomorrow after which she will be taken to the Awusa Mosque, Sackville Street at 4pm for Islamic prayers.
