The Secretary General of the All People’s Congress ( APC ) , Mr. Lansana Dumbuya, has made a nation-wide broadcast on social media, calling on all Sierra Leoneans who love their country to come out in full tomorrow, Wednesday June 21, 2023 to stage a national protest against the Elections Commission for various electoral malpractices.
According to the Secretary General, the demonstration is being called because the methods the ECSL wants to use to conduct Saturday’s elections are wrong ; the voters registration data is incorrect and the results should be certified at the district , not regional level as the ECSL wants to do.
Mr. Dumbuya said that the entire leadership of the main opposition APC has unanimously agreed to stage the demonstration and he called upon all Sierra Leoneans to join the APC in a peaceful nationwide protest against ECSL’s refusal to address the party’s demands for the proposed upcoming elections and the continued unprovoked attacks on APC members, supporters and sympathizers .
