President Bio Needs To Address The Nation

I have reached a point where I no longer have respect for Sierra Leonean leaders, be they APC or SLPP. I did not expect President Bio to be exceptionally different from his APC rivals. I was merely expecting the anti-corruption screaming, Maada Bio to abhor our unfortunate history as a politically abused nation.
If a cabinet minister enmeshes himself in a SCANDAL, President Bio can DISMISS the offending minister and DISTANCE himself from such a scandal by claiming he knew NOTHING about its origin. In the case of Fatima Jabbe, President Bio cannot dissociate himself from that scandal. Fatima’s financial improprieties were committed WITHIN the president’s FAMILY, by his WIFE. During one of her self-implicating deliriums, Fatima Jabbe told us that her so-called office was given large sums of money to spend as she pleases.
President Bio is so ETHICALLY WEAK that he did not urge his wife to RESPECT the fact that PUBLIC FUNDS should NOT be fraudulently converted into personal bank accounts. Almost illiterate and unchecked in her impertinence, Fatima Jabbe had no problem justifying her misuse of PUBLIC FUNDS. In a CIVILIZED society where national leaders are ACCOUNTABLE rather than FEARED, this SCANDAL could shred Maada Bio’s reputation and threaten his presidency. That is why the president needs to ADDRESS the NATION and discuss Fatima’s financial crimes.
Apart from the recitation of Sia Koroma’s alleged financial dodginess, SLPP extremists do not have a credible, legal argument to CONVINCINGLY DEFEND Fatima’s dishonesty. How can any SELF-RESPECTING Sierra Leonean DEFEND the corruption of a government which established an expensive Commission of Inquiry to probe its political rivals? Educated and politically conscious, I cannot DEFEND Fatima’s financial deviousness. May God protect our people against Ebola.
