President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma has today Monday July 11, 2016, welcomed Sierra Leone’s Deputy High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Major General (Rtd) Alfred Claude Nelson Williams, who was safely released from abduction in Nigeria.
Welcoming the Deputy High Commissioner, President Koroma expressed deep feelings over the terrible experience and trauma that the former army general went through at the hand of his kidnappers, but however thanked God Almighty for his safe release. “We don’t want any Sierra Leonean to go through such experience,” he said. The president also thanked the team sent to Nigeria even though the Deputy High Commissioner’s release was secured before their arrival in Abuja. He extended his profound thanks to the general public for their support in diverse ways.
In his brief response, Major General (Rtd) Nelson Williams gave all the glory to God and expressed his profound thanks to President Koroma for his swift intervention to secure his release. He also thanked the general public as well as the Fourth Estate for the enormous concern shown over his predicament.
