In his second maiden inaugural speech, the First Gentleman of the republic of Sierra Leone, His Excellency President Ernest Bai Koroma promised Sierra Leoneans and the international community that he would dedicate his second term of office to the service of the youth i.e. youth empowerment. This was also included in almost all governments’ development agendas and today we are seeing these promises been delivered.
Dr. Sarah Finda Bendu the exemplary Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) on the 17th of December 2014, at the Bank of Sierra Leone Complex in Kingtom told a jam packed stakeholders that she would be embarking on a massive rebranding process at SLRSA since then we have been seeing a lot of improvements not only in the products and services that are been rendered at the SLRSA but there are also immense infrastructural development and youth empowerment programs at SLRSA.
Dr. Sarah Finda Bendu is a woman who believes that the development of any nation rests on the shoulders of it youths that is why she always give opportunity to deserving and hardworking youths that is why most if not all of her strategic line managers comprise youths and this is also evident in her recent board approved recruitment/employment of over 30 graduates in different fields of study ranging from Mass Communication, Accounting & Finance, Economics, Engineering etc. from various colleges and universities across the country some of whom have been working as volunteers and interns. And very soon the SLRSA under the leadership of Dr. Sarah Finda Bendu will refurbish its defunct Automobile Training Institute at its headquarters at Kissy road this will help train youths that may want to develop practical experience in Automobile Engineering. As it was once said by Benjamin Franklyn that ‘‘an investment in knowledge pays best interest’’. Her youth empowerment programs are the best in the history of the SLRSA and has the largest intake of internship placement.
As part of her efforts in rebranding the image of the SLRSA in the minds of its valued public(s), Dr. Sarah Finda Bendu and her Media & Communications team headed by Abdul Karim Dumbuya has been engaging the media in making sure that she rebrands the battered image of SLRSA she inherited from her predecessors and this is manifested in the positive commendations the SLRSA receives during their weekly interactive programs on SLBC TV and other community and commercial radio stations across the country.
The SLRSA under Dr. Sarah Finda Bendu does not work in isolation she believes that the best way to resolve any problem in the human world is for all sides to sit down and talk. That is why she is always in constant consultation with the board of directors of SLRSA and strategic stakeholder of her institution.
The SLRSA under the dynamic and robust leadership of Dr. Sarah Finda Bendu always take the lead in not only making government’s agenda for youths a priority but she is always ready to answer to the clarion call of President Ernest Bai Koroma and thus make the government’s Agenda for Prosperity a success.
