A Sierra Leonean musician and media influencer, Zainab Sheriff was yesterday arrested by the Sierra Leone Police and taken to the CID to answer questions for a video she produced in which she criticized the human rights records of President Maada Bio. She was later granted bail but will report at the CID again this morning to continue being interrogated.
Zainab Sheriff, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Zedzee Multimedia, is one of the bold women to speak out against the extrajudicial killings of the President Bio government, at a time when many are compromising with the SLPP Government.
In the video she released , posted below, Zainab Sheriff decried the killings and the bloodshed Sierra Leone has experienced from the government since President Bio and his SLPP came to power in 2018. She complained that instead of protecting them , the Bio government is busy killing the people and she asked a poignant question : “How many youths do you have to kill to prove a point that you are mean and to prove that you do not care…?”
Zainab said this is the worst government to have ever come to power and it reminds her of the civil war.
Maada Bio is a curse to the country, Zainab said on the video. She asked how many more people President Bio plans to kill during the elections to cling on to power. “I am not going to vote against Maada Bio because he is wicked”, she asserted.
