BRENTHURST FOUNDATION STANDS WITH FORMER PRESIDENT

By Andul Bero Kamara ( Chief)

The Brenthurst Foundation is a think-tank body with its headquarters based in South Africa and was established in 2004 to support the Brenthurst initiative in seeking ways to fund African development and to organize conferences on African competitiveness.

The Brenthurst Foundation stands with former President Koroma, underscoring his towering democratic credentials being one of Africa’s leaders who gracefully relinquished power.

Former President Ernest Bai Koroma is a member of The Brenthurst Foundation Advisory Board. And he is held in high esteem for his indelible track record during his tenure as President from 2008-2018, and also for his statesmanship role and service to the Brenthurst Foundation

It is worth noting that former President Koroma is a defender of democracy, and he is notably one of the outstanding leaders who has relinquished power to opponents peacefully in the interests of entrenching democracy.

He has led election-observation missions across the African continent with great distinction; above all, he is a man of integrity and standing; hence it is very hard to believe that he would be involved in or support the undermining of democracy in Sierra Leone.

Conversely, the Brenthutst Foundation is  concerned with how former President Ernest Bai Koroma was subjected to a witch hunt investigation for an alleged attempted Coup by the Sierra Leone Police which according to the foundation has the propensity to further destabilize the country

In that light, the foundation has asked the government of Sierra Leone to reconsider its approach and, instead of subjecting former President Koroma to questioning, enlist him to help strengthen democracy in that country and the region.

Until then stay tuned/
