COCORIOKO can now also reliably inform our readers that there will be a massive pro-Ernest Koroma and pro-government rally at the Dag Hammarskjold Plaza in front of the UN on Friday July 10. The demonstration will be organized by the Sierra Leoneans For Peace in Support of the President.
President Koroma will be in the U.S. to attend the scheduled Post-Ebola Recovery Conference along with the Heads of State of neighbouring Liberia and Guinea –Presidents Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and Professor Alpha Conde respectively. The Conference, which will be held on July 9 and 10 will be hosted by the Secretary General, H.E. Ban Ki Moon.
The Sierra Leoneans For Peace organization is calling on all Serra Leoneans and supporters of the ruling All People’s Congress ( APC ) to be present at the President’s hotel and the Hammarskjold Plaza to demonstrate their support and appreciation of President Ernest Koroma and the Government of Sierra Leone for their hard work and commitment to the nation, which has drastically stemmed the tide of the ebola outbreak, which is now on the retreat , and also for the many socio-economic and political developments during the tenure of the APC.
The aim of the international conference will be “to ensure that the affected countries receive the resources and support they need to overcome the wider socio-economic consequences of the ongoing Ebola outbreak”, according to officials of the UN , who spoke with Cocorioko. According to a UN news report, “Participants at the high-level event will share strategies for ending the Ebola epidemic – “getting to zero and staying at zero”. The conference will also offer the affected countries the opportunity to share detailed national and regional recovery plans and budgets, prioritizing their needs for the next 24-month period, and will seek to secure international support to fill technical and financial gaps in resources needed.”
Please come out in full to support your President,Government and country.
