Big chaos in city today ? Government, military, Police, APC and Labour unions scramble to renounce and dissociate themselves

By KABS KANU

According to Sierra Leone Government and the security sector, there are plans to destabilize the country today with massive  demonstrations in protest against the Maada Bio Sierra Leone People’s Party ( SLPP) government.

According to the reports, it was not only civilians that were planning the mammoth demonstrations. More worryingly, it was reported that serving and retired soldiers were also planning to take to the streets to demonstrate against the SLPP Government in protest against corruption and favoritism in the army.

The Government has however taken drastic steps to forestall chaos and will be flooding the city with heavily- armed police and soldiers to keep street demonstrators at bay.

It was thought that the civilian protest would have been against the indictment of former Ptesident Ernest Kotoma, who will make his second appearance in court today on charges of alleged treason and alleged complicity in the November 26 events, which the government has described as a coup attempt. But Ex- President Koroma’s party, the All People’s Congress ( APC ) has renounced and dissociated itself from the planned protests.
