Police remove Ernest Koroma from list of APC executives asked to report to CID

Inspector General of Police, Richard Moigbeh has retracted the Police invitation to the All Peoples Congress Executive to report at the CID.

Police sources says the IGP has informed the All Peoples Congress Party that they don’t want to interview the Chairman and Leader, former President Koroma again but only the party’s Secretary General, Osman Foday Yansaneh who is expected to report to the CID.

The APC had asked for a week to be able to assemble members of their executive but the Police requested that the Secretary General should report on Tuesday 8th January instead of the whole executive.

Since news broke of the invitation, there has been serious tension with high presence of armed police personnel around the APC Headquarters.

The invitation relates to a press release by the APC party about two weeks ago condemning the arrest of former minister of Defence, Maj. Rtd. Alfred Paolo Conteh, and alleged harassment of party members by the current government.

The CID claims the release is seditious and is liable to cause disaffection for the Government of Sierra Leone.
