Journalist Thomas Josephus Dixon disappeared hours ago after reportedly receiving a text message from the Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu.

Hours earlier, Dickson had posted about a police crime officer who was reassigned after arresting an individual with close ties to influential figures in power.

His whereabouts are unknown according to sources as the matter is being investigated by other SLAJ members. Text message attached. #sierraleonenews

Popular Journalist Thomas Dixon Missing Following Threats from Sierra Leone Police Chief William Fayia Sellu

The whereabouts of renowned journalist Thomas Dixon and his family are unknown following alarming threats from the Inspector-General of the Sierra Leone Police.

Dixon recently wrote on his Facebook page, criticising the IGP for allegedly rescinding a court bail and transferring the crime officer involved.
In a phone conversation, the IGP reportedly told Dixon to put his concerns in writing instead of answering his questions directly.

Family members have expressed deep concern, stating they have no information on Dixon’s location since the threats emerged.

Attempts to reach the Inspector-General for comment have been unsuccessful, raising further alarm about the safety of the journalist and his family.
