A high-powered delegation of the ruling APC party is on a tour to bring sanity to the party’s Diaspora branches in Europe and the United States of America.
The team, led by the party’s Deputy National Chairman and Leader, who is also the country’s Mines and Mineral Resources Minister, Comrade Alhaji Minikailu Mansaray with the help of the party’s National Secretary General, Comrade Ambassador Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh successfully conducted the elections of the APC branch in Germany past Saturday, November 23 and sanity now prevails in the once acrimonious branch.
In the city of Nijmigen in Holland on the same day, the party’s National Elections Coordinator and Minister of Transport and Aviation, Comrade Leonard Balogun Koroma, aka Logus was full of praise and commendation for the APC Holland branch because of what he referred to as “the unity and sense of purpose that is prevailing among the party’s membership in Holland”.
Comrade Logus Koroma said the delegation is mandated by the party’s National Leader and Chairman, His Excellency President Ernest Bai Koroma to embark on this worldwide tour of all the APC Diaspora branches and try to harmonize and sanitize where there are problems.
“This is the first time in my 42 years as a member of this great party for a leader to take such a move by sending such a high-powered delegation to meet the party’s Diaspora branches”.
For the APC branch in Holland, Comrade Logus said the purpose of the team’s visit is to thank them immensely for their contributions to the success of the party especially the provision of the APC radio which he added contributed greatly to clinch victory for the party in 2007.
“The leadership of the party and the entire membership is very much grateful and appreciate your efforts”, he said amidst deafening applause from the jam-packed hall.
Comrade Logus Koroma furthered that the petty squabbles, acrimonies and indiscipline that is currently prevailing in other Diaspora branches is bringing an embarrassment to the party and such will no longer be tolerated, hence the mandate from the leader.
“We’ll tell them to borrow a leaf from the APC Holland chapter on how to live and work in harmony as members of the same party. Your executive and members in Holland will serve as pace-setters and role-models”.
Koroma added that since the next executive elections of the APC Holland chapter is in July next year, he admonished them to prepare a comprehensive list of the members and an operational party bank account of the branch,
Earlier, the branch’s Chairman, Ibrahim Bashir Kamara gave a summary of the branch’s achievements and contributions to the party during and after the 2007 and 2012 elections and some of the challenges the branch is presently experiencing.
The meeting was climaxed with an interactive question and answer session whilst the party’s victory song was sang to bring down the curtain.
