The All People’s Congress ( APC) is the most durable political party in West Africa. We are forced to lose but we do not die. We do not give up. We remain stronger and we always come back, whatever the challenges. That is why the SLPP remains afraid of the APC.
Therefore, anybody who thinks that APC will fail, amidst all our present problems , which include deadly infighting, disunity, betrayals, traitorous behavior, sugar – antism, deceit , greed, dishonesty, narcissistic attitudes, lies and other toxic behaviors is thinking standing on his head. APC will not fall. We will come back to power stronger than ever.
APC is a very resilient political party. We know how to absorb shocks and use them to our advantage. We thrive in adversity. The APC is like the mythical sphinx . We have the capacity to rise from what others concoct as our funeral pyre. We never say die until the bones are rotten.
For those of us who are staying clear of all the chaos, hullabaloo and affray in our party, we stand by our positions that what the APC needs most are the following :
1. THE TRUTH.
We have to face and acknowledge the truth about where we are standing presently. What is the present status of the party ? Are we well ? Are we walking on firmer ground based on truth and integrity ? We need to face and embrace the truth. If a man is not feeling well, he has to acknowledge that he is not well and find out what is wrong with him. He has to face the truth that he is sick and diagnose his problems. It is based on the diagnosis that the person would know what to do next to regain his health. Our party is being held hostage right now by special interests and incapable of embracing the truth about our present plight. This, to me, is what is ailing the APC right now. If we do not face this truth, we will continue going round and round the toxic circles of deceit, betrayals and whooping lies and we will get nowhere . So, APC partisans that is the first step in solving our party’s problems . We need to know the truth about the present status of the party. Where are we ? Are we on the right track ?
2. IF WE ARE NOT WELL, HAVE WE ACKNOWLEDGED IT ?
The only person who will save himself is the sick man. He has to acknowledge that he is sick, all is not well and he requires treatment. It does not matter how concerned family and friends are, if you the sick man does not acknowledge that he is ill. Unless he admits his poor health, he will never receive treatment. Another problem we have in the APC is that we are not honest about our present health. Instead of admitting that we are sick and seeking truthful diagnosis, we have set up bully pulpits at social media and beyond . We have employed and positioned bloggers to tout our positions, in the process creating nefarious factions and cabals that are hurting the party further. Everybody thinks he is right . Nobody is listening to the other. In the process, people are having a field day deceiving our party and slowing down our onwards march to State House.
3. THE CURE.
Once the patient has been correctly diagnosed, then comes the cure. To avoid the sickness getting worse, or the patient dying, treatment has to start immediately, because if the patient is not cured, obviously he will die. Sickness is unforgiving. If left unattended, it will destroy other organs, shut down the patient’s body and eventually kill him. We do not want this to happen to our beloved APC.
APC MUST COME TOGETHER AND HEAL THE PARTY
The APC needs treatment. We need to come together to provide the appropriate treatment for our party , so that it will regain its health and return to power.
I strongly believe that the medicines we need to cure the party are truthfulness about where we are standing; truthfulness, honesty and integrity to acknowledge the fact that we are not heading in the right direction and taking the exact measures to turn things around in the party. The ship is in choppy and turbulent waters and heading for doom. The ship has to be steered around and placed back on the right course.
Having a multiplicity of presidential candidates without first solving the party’s problems will not avail anything. The 20 or more flagbearers we have produced so far are only involved in a wild goose chase for power. With the 84 recommendations of the Tripartite Committee not yet fully implemented and Maada Bio’s tribe singularly controlling everything — the Elections Commission , the PPRC, the judiciary, civil society, the Police, the Army , the MDAs, only a fool does not know that any election in Sierra Leone with the present ethnographic structure in place will lead to the same outcome of 2018 and 2023 —-MAADA BIO WILL STEAL THE ELECTIONS AGAIN.
APC must reconcile itself with the truth , unite, heal and fight the good fight , which is the recipe for victory. We must stop listening to lies, delusional promises and projections , unprogressive slogans , deceit and tomfoolery. If we do not unite and undo Maada Bio’s tribal structures , the thief will steal the elections again in 2028 and when he does , do we return again to licking our wounds for another 10 years ?
We must not depend solely on other dynamics. We have a cowardly populace. We must not depend on the people to fight for us. Maada Bio controls the instruments of power and the security forces . They will force the small crowd of people into surrender . Will we have free, fair and credible elections when the president’s tribe controls all the processes ? Let us beware, APC.
The international community has done well but will only be as serious as we are about restoring democracy in Sierra Leone. Our people do not seem to be serious about issues like democracy . They will complain but lack the stomach for a sustained fight with the SLPP.
The world scenerio and dynamics have changed ,with international powers themselves now busy destroying democracy in their own countries and seeking possible isolation from problems in Third World countries. The cards are not in our favour.
APC THEREFORE NEEDS TO FACE THE TRUTH ABOUT WHERE IT STANDS TODAY AND FIGHT TO GET RID OF OUR PROBLEMS, UNITING AND FIGHTING WITH WISDOM . Otherwise, all we are doing now is setting ourselves up for more heartaches in the future.
We must unite, fight as a team, dismantle the criminal and tribalistic electoral structures the criminal Maada Bio has set in place and go into the next elections with our never-say- die united front . To me, that is the only way forward.
APC WILL ALWAYS DEFEAT THE SLPP IN FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS. BUT WE DO NOT HAVE ANY STRUCTURE IN PLACE NOW TO ENSURE FAIR, TRANSPARENT, CREDIBLE AND DEMOCRATIC ELECTIONS. WE HAVE TO FIGHT TO HAVE THE RIGHT STRUCTURES IN PLACE.
