Supporters of the All People’s Congress ( APC ) today stormed the party headquarters at Brookfields to jubilate after it became obvious from provisional results from the presidential runoff that Dr. Samura Kamara had taken an unassailable lead over his opponent, the presidential flagbearer of the opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party ( SLPP), Retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio.
Deputy Minister of Information , Hon. Cornelius Deveneaux, said that all the votes have been counted at the polling stations and from the results tallied by agents of the party from all over the country , the APC has a comfortable lead , amounting to 52% of the total. He said that at the moment of speaking , APC supporters were jubilating in Kenema, Kono and Kailahun , because the party has passionate support there , even though they did not win there.
