A big demonstration is expected at the headquarters of the oppositio n All People’s Congress ( APC) in Freetown tomorrow as ardent supporters have called grassroots members to make their presence felt when the international stakeholders arriving to expedite the recommendations of the Agreement of National Unity meet with the APC flagbearer, Dr. Samura Kamara.
All over social media today, APC supporters, animated by news of the arrival tomorrow of international stakeholders and Moral Guarantors to upstage the process of implementation of the Tripartite Committee agreements and their meeting with Samura Kamara at their party office, are trying to rally followers to mass behind their leader to demonstrate to the visitors their frustration with the bold elections robbery committed last year by President.Maada Bio.
If APC supporters heed the call, Freetown will be hot with political activism tomorrow . APC supporters are being asked to turn up with their placards emblazoned with messages that they are dissatisfied with Ptesident Bio’s much- internationally condemned hijacking of the presidential elections believed to have been won by his leading challenger, Dr. Samura Kamara and to demand their stolen mandate.
But there are fears that the despotic SLPP Maada Bio government will , as usual , try his high handed anti- democratic practices by sending his army and police to intimidate, brutalize and even turn away expected demonstrators. In this respect, Bio has been sternly warned by APC supporters on social media not to try it and further escalate already rising passions.
APC supporters were also heard on audios and read in posts accusing their much- vilified party executive, which is at tenterhooks with Dr. Samura Kamara ,that it might try to sabotage the demonstration. They have warned their supporters not to listen to the executive.
We will bring you full reports of tomorrow’s events.
