My dear comrades of our great party, I greet you all in the name of peace and party solidarity. Let me start by saying the obvious, that as comrades, we have been faced with many many challenges in recent years and as a party, we are at crossroads. A critical juncture that requires us all to make sound decisions that would enhance our party’s victory come June 2023.
In the past few years, comrades of our party witnessed unprecedented actions of political intimidation and harassment in our nation’s history. We have been challenged unlawfully by imposing a speaker of parliament on us. We have been challenged unconstitutionally by removing ten (10) of our legitimate elected parliamentary representatives. We also witnessed the imprisonment, killings, harassment and unlawful political detention of comrades of our party. We have also witnessed the illegal sacking of so many qualified and competent Sierra Leoneans because they belong to a particular tribe or they are coming from a particular region.
Today, the living conditions of our people are unbearable and the current state of our country’s economy is very alarming. So, a time like this requires us all to work together and make a tremendous change in the lives and livelihood of our people. We must be convinced by all, in putting aside our differences for us to reach our set goals. It’s a hope that we can keep alive and a dream that we can all achieve. With consensus and determination, it’s a fight that we can win. It’s a change that we must make and a future that we can build. This can be achieved if only we put aside the mere pettiness of self and graciously work together in harmony to save the lives of our dying masses and the country we so dearly love.
Therefore, In this current state of our country’s unwarranted crises, we must be honest to elect a solid team of national party executive members that would lead us in battles and help make the change that would bring us victory. We must be very mindful that defining moments like this require us all to bring forward our best political players together and identify comrades that are fearless, strategic, steadfast, selfless, courageous and focused.
As one of your committed, and loyal comrades, I am putting myself forward to raise my hand in endorsing someone with an extraordinary virtue, a man who had shown tremendous courage in extraordinary times to represent and defend our glorious party. He is a team player and a distinguished administrator. He is tough-minded and cares passionately about the ideals of our party. He is one person who can lift our spirits, and make us believe that our party secretariat would serve not just a few but every member of our party. He is an outstanding lawyer and a young man with impeccable character. One that is guided by reasoning and experience; integrity and humility. This type of personality is not only known and recognised by senior comrades of our party but he is also loved and respected by the grassroots of our party.
Therefore, as elections matter, so as our elected party representatives. This comrade understands the desires of our people and the significance of our party winning the next general elections. He understands why our party needs to be united to fight a common enemy, achieve a common goal and have a common destiny. And that’s why with humility and extraordinary courage, I’m so proud to speak up and raise my hand to endorse Ady “Lion” Macauley to be the next National Secretary General of our party.
Ady has demonstrated the attributes of a modern Secretary General. He is very systemic, and abreast with modern tech, software and apps. As a result of the above reasons, I’m therefore calling on my comrades in the struggles and around the globe to support my endorsement for Ady “Lion” Macauley.
This is a great moment for you to join us in this historic journey and be a part to celebrate such a resounding victory. It’s time for us to have the courage to choose what is right for our party. It is time for us to witness a new generation of strong leaders. Our victory starts today and it starts now. So, let’s keep hoping and keep believing in the possibilities of a bigger, brighter, better and much greater future. The time is now for us to support Ady “Lion” Macauley to be the next NSG of our glorious party. In the struggles of APC, there is VICTORY.
