Sierra Leoneans continue to be puzzled and aggravated by the unlawful decisions being taken by the new government in Sierra Leone. HERE IS A REPORT BY BBC CORRESPONDENT , UMARU FOFANA.
Sierra Leone’s President has dismissed the head of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Ady Macaulay. It comes days after he was sent on “special leave”. No reasons have been given but the move now clears the way for Francis Ben Keifalla to become his successor. Some have criticized the removal from office of the ACC boss saying the law gives him security of tenure which should have kept him in office for at least another two years.
ADDY MACAULEY
Lawyer Francis Ben Kaifala is the New ACC Boss!
Sierra Leonean-British-American trained lawyer, Francis Ben Kaifala has been appointed by President Julius Maada Bio as the new Anti-Corruption Commissioner.
Mr. Kaifala returned to Sierra Leone recently after completing his second LLM degree in USA.
FRANCIS BEN KAIFALA
Mr. Kaifala is the youngest person to be appointed to this all important post. He is very strict and meticulous when it comes to legal matters. Crooks and rogues have to think 100 times before attempting to eat any haramu.
On behalf of Commoners Sierra Leone, I would like to congratulate our fellow commoner, Francis Ben Kaifala on his appointment.
Several other fellow commoners have gained important political appointments while those in the police force have been promoted.
Keep posted for more success stories of fellow commoners!

Section 8 of the ACC Acts of 2008 posits, “The Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner shall be removed from office by the President-
(a) if the question of his removal from office has been referred to a tribunal in accordance with subsection (5) and the tribunal has recommended to the President that the Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner ought to be removed from office; and Functions of Commissioner.
(b) if his removal has been approved by a two- thirds majority in Parliament.”
Although the nominated #ACC Boss is qualified and competent for the job, my Friend Francis Ben Kelfala should be worried about the way and manner Ady was kicked out.
I hope Parliament will be able to question the process because they are key in Section 8 of the ACC Act.
SACKING OF ACC BOSS ILLEGAL
The ongoing legal controversy around the sacking of Ady Macauley as Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission may defeats President Bio’s commitment in his adress at the State Opening of Parliament to lead by example and adhere to the rule of law and institutional reforms to maintain law and order in society.
President Bio promised to demonstrate the necessary discipline and refrain from acting unconstitutionally and scrupulously respecting the rule of law in the best interest of national development and stability.
The wrong deeds of Ernest Bai Koroma must not be used to justify another wrongful act by Maada Bio.
Whilst am wishing my Renaissance brother Francis Ben Kaifala all the best in his new responsibility with high hopes that he will do better,I will also want to thank Ady Macauley for serving his country even though in my own opinion much was not achieved in the fight against graft under him.
Mr. President please stay true to your promises, the people of Sierra Leone deserves better and not business as usual.

The sacking and subsequent appointment of a new commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission are no doubt swaddled in controversies. Understandably so, legal and social commentators have already gone into overdrive in the wake of these recent events. As a close friend of the erstwhile commissioner and a comrade and buddy of the new, coupled with my position as interim chairman of the Renaissance Movement (Sierra Leone) one of whose founding fathers is the new anti-corruption czar, I seem dazed with an apparent conflict and whatever I might say would be placed under the microscope of suspicion. For these very reasons, I would allow the legal pundits to scrutinise the provisions in regard the legality or its absence in the removal of the former commissioner. That said, I wish to leave a teaser and I hope no allusions and aspersions would be imported than which are intended:
Scenario 1: A gets appointed legally—Corruption festers and matures.
Scenario 2: B gets appointed controversially—corruption is confronted/ booted.

You heard a man like obama stressing about respecting a country’s constitution.Let’s put country first. i said the constitution should be respected and not abused. If it was in the past,it should not happen now.Look at events happening.
IT’S THE RESPONSIBILITY OF OPPOSITION MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT TO OPPOSE THE APPOINTMENT OF THE NEW ACC BOSS. YOU CANNOT APPROVE UNCONSTITUTIONALITY.
