Ebola outbreak update: As of today, 22 August 2014, we have a total of 236 patients who have survived Ebola Virus Disease and subsequently discharged. The total number of new confirmed cases for today is 9: Kailahun 1, Tonkolili 6; Bo 1 and Western Area 1
The total number of cumulative confirmed deaths is 329 and cumulative number of confirmed cases is 823 with Kailahun 411, Kenema 290; Kono 1; Kambia 1; Bombali 11; Tonkolili 8; Port Loko 33; Pujehun 4; Bo 27; Moyamba 8; Bonthe 1; Western Area Urban 22; Western Area Rural 5. Koinadugu district still remains the only district that has not registered confirmed cases of Ebola in Sierra Leone
The cumulative number of probable cases is 38 and probable deaths 34 while the total cumulative number of suspected cases is 52 and suspected deaths is 5
The Environmental Protection Agency Sierra Leone (EPA-SL) today donated 2,500 pieces of PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment) and Infrared thermometers to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation as additional support towards the fight against the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). The 2,500 PPEs, according to the Chairperson of EPA-Sierra Leone Madam Jatou Jalloh is the first batch of 15,000 PPEs that will be provided by the EPA to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation to assist in the fight against the EVD.
