Maada Bio delivers another shocking blow to accountability in trail of unlawful acts: Orders Attorney General to sack Auditor General and Deputy

President Maada Bio has shocked the nation again in his unending trail of unlawful actions. He has ordered the Attorney General to fire the Auditor General, Lara Taylor Prarce  and her deputy .

The action taken against the auditor general is a reprisal for her diligent work in blowing the whistle on President Bio , his wife and government for their mindless looting of the Sierra Leone economy.

Since Bio came to power in 2018, the auditor general, in her regular statutory audits on the SLPP Government , has exposed shocking and alarming cases of rampant looting, embezzlement and brazen robbery of public funds by President Bio, his wife, ministers and public officials.

President Bio certainly did not take kindly to the explosive audit reports and so he has decided to fire the Auditor General and her deputy.

Here below are reports and comments by prominent Sierra Leoneans.

AMADU LAMRANA BAH REPORTS

His Excellency Julius Maada Bio has accepted all of the recommendations of the Tribunal Report on the alleged professional misconduct of Lara Taylor-Pearce and Tamba Momoh among which is their removal.

The President has directed the Attorney General and Minister of Justice to initiate the necessary procedure for the removal of the suspended Auditor General, Lara Taylor-Pearce, and the Audit Service Board to pursue action for the removal of the suspended Deputy Auditor General, Tamba Momoh.

The public, who both the President and the suspended Auditor General works for still don’t know what’s the findings of the Public Tribunal.

Former President Ernest Bai Koroma will be remembered for the removal of his Vice President and President Bio will be remembered at least for now for removing the well-respected Lara Taylor-Pearce whose reports he used to campaign and even mentioned in his New Direction Manifesto just because she audited his office over alleged fake receipts.

Citizens sit and watch these things happen just like that, with no transparency to the public like this isn’t a democratic state.

Making the Tribunal Report public is not too much to ask for. It is part of good governance and being accountable for any action like the one the President has directed to be taken.

If you’re a citizen and concerned please call your Member of Parliament and tell them how you feel and also prepare to attend the sittings which are public when the Attorney General goes to Parliament to get the vote to remove Lara Taylor-Pearce.

Be counted for standing for accountability, transparency, and good governance in Sierra Leone.
