*In a Crisis, Central Command of Security and Information* *Management Is Necessary*
[1/21, 6:44 AM] +44 7856 574074: TOO MANY COOKS……….The sudden and unexpected resignation of President Bio’s Press Secretary, Solomon Jamiru, is not only commendable, but a novelty. Though the stated reason seems personal, there is every reason to believe that some officials in government have been sidelined.
The Chief Minister, Dr. David Sengeh, and the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, seem to have hijacked the roles of other officials. Government press statements are now the exclusive domain of David Sengeh and Chernor Bah. This could not have gone down well with some officials.
Even sensitive security issues are no longer left with the heads of the military and police. Chernor Bah seems to be operating out of his brief. Whether it has the support of the President or not, remains to be seen.
International negotiations are now the Chief Minister’s brief, not even the vice-president. In such a convoluted mixture, jobs tend to overlap or be duplicated. There is so much duplication in jobs that no one knows his/her job description. This anomaly may have featured largely in Solomon Jamiru’s resignation.
Given the current situation in the country, there might be more resignations on the way. Bio has lost control of the narrative. His spin doctors are working tirelessly to twist the narrative. But things seem to be getting out of control . Bio is in a Catch-22 situation. He is wedged between his rabid supporters and international pressure. It’s just a matter of time before Bio hit the buffers. His honeymoon is coming to a premature end.

Your critique of the government of President Bio posted in PROGRESSIVES 4 S/L could be based on your perception from far away; but in a crisis situation, it is sometimes best to have firm central commands in the security services, and in information management – and that is what is likely happening.
*The calm and sincere voice of Hon. Chernor Bah, Minister of* *Information and Civic Education, coupled with his humble demeanor,* *has calmed the tension in Sierra Leone as normalcy has returned* *since the attempted coup of November 26, 2023.*
Continue with your critique. That may help the government.
