Mayor Aki-Sawyerr and Zheng Hong Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthened Freetown-Hefei Cooperation

On Thursday, 4 December 2025, the Vice Chairperson of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Zheng Hong, met with Her Worship the Mayor of Freetown, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr OBE.
With Freetown and Hefei-the capital city of Anhui Province enjoying a sister-city relationship established in 1984, the meeting created an opportunity to reactivate this long-standing partnership between the two and strengthen avenues for cooperation.
During their discussions, Mayor Aki-Sawyerr and Zheng Hong highlighted the potential of their respective cities and affirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration, particularly in trade and cultural exchange.
