The days are long gone when women will sit down supinely and allow the world to pass them by. Today, women are the hands that rock the nation and the world.
One of the most impressive women’s organizations that epitomizes that spirit is I AM THAT WOMAN, an organization whose purpose is to inspire women to aspire and achieve laurels in this world.
According to the founder and President of I AM THAT WOMAN, Mrs. Rebecca Arthur Wright, “I am That Woman” is an all- women’s group of like – minded people, united on the basis of a shared vision. We want all women to aspire and achieve. We are an organisation set up to inspire, motivate and improve the personal and professional lives of women of all faith.
Continuing, Mrs. Wright told COCORIOKO that ” Through different collaborations, we are able to work with women and communities from diverse backgrounds right across the world, helping them to tackle and solve the unique challenges they face.”
She went on to say that ” Our mission is to help transform the lives of vulnerable women by empowering them to live independent lives. We strive to positively impact and influence each other. The organisation aims to bring awareness about the abilities of women and highlight the needs of opportunities for all. We strive to achieve this by empowering women through conferences, seminars and training. To this effort, we hope, to set precedent and broke the glass ceiling, raising the consciousness about women’s abilities and skills. ”
It is these noble goals by the I AM THAT WOMAN organization that has endeared it to the minds of Sierra Leoneans, Africans and World Citizens everywhere. An organization tasked with such a glorious objective to remove women from the doldrums of once- traditionally ascribed roles of mere occupants of the kitchen to the lofty heights of world domination in every field is bound to acquire such acclaim.
This Saturday, I AM THAT WOMAN will be honoring one of the women who has made an indelible impression in the world of philanthropism and humanitarian enterprises-— MRS. ISATU ISHA TIMBO-NWOKEDI, Sierra Leone’s celebrated Honorary Consul at Los Angeles, California and the Goodwill Ambassador, whom the organization has declared the Woman of the Year 2023 and will be honoring with an award in a glittering program to be held at the City of Light Centre, Maryland, USA. Mrs Wright stated emphatically that “It is time to celebrate the impact of exceptional women in our societies and launched a network to encourage, inspire and support women to use their God-given gifts and talents in their chosen fields.”
Mrs . Wright , who is proud of the work of her organization, goes on : ” The organisation also celebrate the impact of exceptional women in our society by honouring them with – (Woman of The Year Award) to encourage, inspire and celebrate their success and achievements. We are here to level the playing field, inspire women to open doors and have their voices heard. And that includes yours.”
But there is an even more amazing side to this story of the organization—The woman who is the moving spirit behind I AM THAT WOMAN. She is a woman who has herself strived hard to live up to the dreams that she wants to bless women with. MRS. REBECCA ARTHUR WRIGHT is none other than the UK- based renowned international multi -award gospel recording artist, preacher, motivational speaker and author, who has been climbing the ladder to success. She has also gone and achieved the golden fleece. Alongside her music ministry. She holds a business degree (Bsc. Hons) from Canterbury University England. I Am That Woman is one of the arms of Rebecca Arthur Wright’s ministry.
REBECCA ARTHUR WRIGHT was also Miss Africa (UK) 2000 and a former events manager, organising fashion shows, beauty contests and gigs. As a motivational speaker, she is the quintessential renaissance woman, with a ceaseless pursuit of power and excellence. Her performances are always well crafted; her composure is one of confidence; her energy always infectious and her love for knowledge and the the WORD is her greatest weapon, sharp and flawless.
It is time for Sierra Leoneans to JOIN women in starting to celebrate women in a big, propitious and remarkable manner because as Mrs . Wright rightly enthuses : THE PLAYING FIELD MUST BE LEVEL. IT IS NO LONGER AN EXCLUSIVE MEN’S WORLD.
