New Jersey in frenzied preparations for President Koroma’s historic visit

The All People’s Congress Chapter in New Jersey is involved in frenzied preparations for the historic visit to New Jersey of His Excellency President Ernest Bai Koroma.  The President will pay a one-day visit to the Garden State on Saturday September 24, while here to attend the 66th Session of the UN General Assembly.

President Koroma will arrive in New Jersey in the afternoon and will attend a Retreat in the form of a Working Lunch with executive menbers  and supporters of the All People’s Congress North America (APC-North America ) at the UKRANIAN CULTURAL CENTRE , 135  Davidson Avenue , Somerset .  The Retreat is expected to start around 2 pm and last until around 6 pm.  The President and party will then attend a grand Banquet at the  same  Ukranian Cultural Centre in  Somerset , which will also be a fund-raising program organized by the APC -NA, from  8pm to mudnight .

Though the programs are organized by the APC-NA and the New Jersey Chapter,  President Koroma’s visit is an all-Sierra Leonean engagement and the President is coming to New Jersey to see his Sierra Leonean citizens in general  .The Permanent Mission of Sierra Leone to the UN and the Sierra Leone Embassy in Washington DC are calling on all Sierra Leoneans to come out in full to receive the Head of State , who in only four years has transformed Sierra Leone from a Stone Age Country to a modern state , through his impressive infrastructural and socio-economic and political developments.

Yesterday, the APC New Jersey Chapter continued their frantic preparations with a meeting at the home of the President of the Chapter, Mr. Allie Badara Kamara at Franklin Township , Somerset. The meeting was also attended by Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the U.S, Mr. Bockarie Stevens and the Minister Plenipotentiary to the UN, Mr. Leeroy Wilfred Kabs-Kanu, who have been working directly with APC -NA and New Jersey to ensure the success of the program.
