The people of Sierra Leone will be making a gargantuan decision on Wednesday March 7, 2018. They will be voting to decide who rules the nation for the next five years. The Sierra Leonean people will be finding a successor to President Ernest Bai Koroma, who received the mantle of leadership in 2007 and for the past 10 years has been working diligently and remarkably to transform the nation socio-economically and politically.
It will be a big moment in the nation when we will need to vote in an erudite, astute and outstanding statesman to fill in the shoes of the extraordinary leader, President Ernest Bai Koroma. But without any ado, just as I said in Part 1 of this series, the man among men that deserves our votes to be elected the next President of Sierra Leone is Dr. Samura Kamara, the standard bearer of the ruling All People’s Congress ( APC ).

Of all the aspirants , Dr. Samura Kamara has demonstrated personal values and ethical standards that typify a man who will be a successful President. He is a man of impeccable scruples and moral integrity. He has served the Commonwealth, the IMF, the World Bank, the military National Provisional Ruling Council ( NPRC ) , the Sierra Leone People’s Party ( SLPP ) and the All People’s Congress ( APC ) and kept his character and integrity intact. He did not misappropriate or embezzle public money and was not accused of any misconduct. His track record of public service is the most impressive among the lot. His character is as clean as a whistle and so he is the most qualified of all the flagbearers to be become President on Wednesday.
Another reason that he is the most qualified of the lot is that he is the most experienced of the lot in the matter of governance. He has nothing to prove. He has already excelled himself as Governor of the Bank of Sierra Leone, Minister of Finance and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and in the process he has accrued immeasurable experience in local and international politics, monetary systems and their operation , international relations and how to keep the state peaceful and safe. He has learnt how the system works and will not be learning on the job, like the other candidates.
Dr. Samura Kamara is the most qualified candidate of the pack because he resonates with the people far better than the others. Dr. Samura Kamara has a disarming, pleasant , humble , pleasing and compassionate spirit like President Ernest Koroma. He can be trusted to give a listening ear to the people in pursuit of the amelioration of their problems. He is not a proud, uppity and standoffish man and will be able to relate to the people at grassroots and other levels. That is one of the distinguishing marks of his personality that makes people to love him wherever he goes . This is the kind of people’s man that Sierra Leoneans need as their President. Sierra Leoneans do not need a proud and pompous man at State House.
Talking about simplicity and humility, Samura Kamara will be a big hit because his Vice-President-to-be Hon. Chernor Bah ( Chericoco ) is equally a common and humble man, despite his educational accomplishments and former status as Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Sierra Leone. Chericoco is immensely popular with the youths and the people and this will an additional benefit . When they vote in the two men, Sierra Leoneans can be assured that the government will not be alienated and insulated from the people . The personalities of both men will bring the government closer to the people .
