As promised our readers, we bring you the pictorial highlights of the massive 51st Independence Anniversary Celebrations Dance in New Jersey staged by the Sierra Leone Community in New Jersey ( SLCNJ ) on Saturday April 21, 2012.
The dance was held at the Somerset-Bridgewater Hotel on 110 Davidson Avenue in Somerset . It was jammed to capacity and unlike past practices, the music and dancing flowed uninterrupted this time. There were no speeches or side events; just continous dancing to the exhiliarating music. This made the dance one of the most enjoyable ever held in the Garden State. According to officials of SLCNJ, it was decided to make the dance an all -action affair because speeches had already been during the big Parade and carnival held earlier during the day at the Naaman Williams Park in Somerset, NJ. This gave the DJ, Mr. Sly, the opportunity to prove his mettle as he kept dishing out the music that kept the dance floor packed and rocking all night.
