Popular musician LAJ is lucky to be alive and back at the Pademba Road Prisons

Popular rapper , Alhaji Amadu Bah, popularly known as  Boss LAJ, had a harrowing experience during last Sunday’s armed confusion in the capital Freetown. He was one of those released from jail by the gunmen but he has since handed himself over to the authorities.

LAJ who was arrested on Sunday 12th June, 2022  on his way to witness the Sierra Leone vs Guinea Bissau match in Guinea, was taken into custody by the police for alleged ‘robbery’ of about Le 450,000 at a fuel station in Freetown. But it has been alleged that the charges against him are false and he has been incarcerated for a politically-motivated case, involving the First Lady Fatima Bio.

Lots of people feared for his life  after his release from jail by gunmen on Sunday but he is now securely back in prison.

Message from King Boss LAJ

I am sending out this message with a heavy heart to the people of Sierra Leone and the world at large. Being alive today is by the grace of God almighty as the situation myself and other inmates faced today was terrible. My life was at risk as there was heavy firing of guns at the Male correctional facility. I was terrified to have seen some military officers in front of my cell this morning as they forcefully opened my cell and ordered me with guns to walk out of the Prison. Other cells were opened and inmates were also asked to leave the facility.

However , I have called the Chief Minister Hon. David Sengeh and the Inspector General of Police William Fayia Sellu to come and pick up from where I am as I am not feeling safe because I almost lost my life this morning at the Pademba Road Prison . I am yet to see or hear from the authorities that I have spoken to with regard them coming to take me to a safer location . I have my family , friends and fans that I am looking forward to reunite with when I am due to be released.

I have no idea about what happened today and I am totally against it as it undermines our won earned peace and stability we have been enjoying as a nation for decades.

In light of recent today’s events, it is important for us to come together as a nation and prioritize peace and security. Let us stand united against any form of violence or discord and work towards building a harmonious Sierra Leone.

I am calling on all Sierra Leoneans especially my fans to remain vigilant and support our government and security forces in their efforts to maintain law and order. We must report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
