President Bio and First Lady using Sierra Leone children in politically-motivated attempt to polish SLPP Government’s fading image

Clownish President Bio Politicising School Children to ‘Thank Him’ for Propagating Lies

By Abu Shaw

The failed govt is living on a different planet as they continue to deceive themselves with more propaganda rather than delivering the goodies.

“This SLPP government of President Julius Maada Bio does not know how to rule Sierra Leone. More propaganda and less substance. They came to power through propaganda and they are still propagating nonsense instead of concentrating on the bread-and-butter issues for the suffering people. The suffering in Sierra Leone is unprecedented. Even during the AFRC military junta interregnum of Major Johnny Paul Koroma, we never suffered hardship like this in the last four and half years of misrule, high corruption, human rights violations, mass murders of innocent citizens, etc, etc under President Bio. Come June 24, 2023elections, we will teach them a bitter lesson,” citizens in the Southeast have vowed. (Photo: SLPP Propaganda politics and misusing school children won’t work this time around Mr President).

Desperation has overwhelmed the Bio presidency and they know that their time is running out fast, so they are hanging on any straw just to make themselves relevant. Shameful for the SLPP government to force school children to leave their classrooms and rammed them into the State House garden just to say ‘Thank You’ to Mr President! Thank you for what? What has President Bio done since 2018? He has only delivered electricity shortage, skyrocketing of basic foodstuff, and exorbitant cost of fuel, not to mention human rights abuses, lack of civil liberties, and many other vices. “It is sad that First Lady Fatima Jabbe Bio thinks by forcing school children out of their classrooms to come and say ‘Thank President Bio’, will win them a second term. They are crazy,” an observer noted. This is not the first time school children’s education has been disrupted to propagate the failed Bio presidency.

Sierra Leoneans are unhappy that President Bio is misusing his office by preventing school children from attending classes to spread propaganda and falsehood instead of governing democratically. Politicising innocent schoolchildren will not win votes. Everyone knows how President Bio has failed the country. Now, as the June 24, 2023 elections are coming closer, panic and jittery have taken over the corridors of power and President Bio and his gang of SLPP thieves are seeing the writing on the wall that the electorates are ready to kick them out of power rain or shine. “We will assure President Bio and his failed SLPP regime that no amount of propaganda would make us vote for him this time. He is a disgrace,” disgruntled citizens in Bo told the Organiser newspaper. More condemnations on this issue thus – (Photo: The Bios took children from schools in Bo for sanitary pads where disaster struck).

APC Condemns the Use of School Kids, Public Servants to Galvanise Support

By Owl Press

Desperate SLPP Using Pupils, Public Servants To Galvanise Support – The APC is aware of a certain leaked Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL) Memorandum mandating civil and public servants to participate in a Thank-You ‘float parade’ in respect of the Government’s purported achievement in enacting the Gender Bill. The Gender Bill was enacted through a multi-party and multi-stakeholder process including opposition MPs who voted in favour. Also, Civil and Public servants are paid from the Consolidated Revenue Fund or by various other funds established for and on behalf of the people of Sierra Leone. This is why the APC is very concerned that the GoSL would force the operations of the state to a halt by compelling government employees to participate in a ‘float parade’ to thank the government. This is a blatant politicization of the public and civil services, as well as a reckless waste of their productivity.

Further, it is disappointing that a government that claims to prioritise education could be so desperate to the point of conscripting pupils during school hours to boost their deflated political posture. We hold the government fully responsible for the suffocation and exhaustion which innocent pupils were exposed to during that ill-fated partisan march past. This forced march is identical to another incident in Bo, again by this government, that led to the hospitalisation of hundreds of school-going children. While we strongly condemn these reckless and desperate actions by the SLPP government, the APC urges the Bio-led government to ensure that adequate medical services are provided to the victims. Meanwhile, we extend our sympathies to the affected children and thank the women of Sierra Leone, our Members of Parliament, and our bilateral and development partners for the support they collectively gave to the Gender Bill. For More Information Please Contact +232- 78 849-998/76-629633 – NPS/003/03/23, Freetown – 16th March 2023.
