THE next Government will be different from any we have had in Sierra Leone . Apart from seeking to restore good governance, tribal equality , democracy and human rights, the next government will also have the task of delivering justice . JUSTICE AND GOOD GOVERNANCE ARE TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN .
Even in the Bible and Quoran , the demands of justice were paid.
This time , APC stalwarts and grassrooters have vowed that they will not play a passive role and sit supinely and see their president and acolytes lead them back into opposition. This time, everybody’s hands will be on deck, they have promised .
This time, even cabinet, ambassadorial and directorship appointments will have to be vetted and approved by APC stalwarts and grassrooters before they are accepted . This will ensure that appointments follow the strict direction the next government would like to push the country.
Unlike past APC governments who failed to have the SLPP pay for their egregious human rights abuses and killings , the next APC government will be hard put to it to ensure that the SLPP do not get away with murders a third time . Justice must not only be done. It will be seen to be done and this will be good for the nation as it will eradicate impunity and build a solid foundation for human rights and justice in the country.
The deaths of our people in Makeni, Tombo, Lunsar, Mile 91, Tonko Limba, the Pademba Road Prisons and other parts of the country must not go in vain. Our people must not die and be forgotten like chickens. It happened during NPRC rule and the SLPP Ahmad Tejan Kabbah tenure but never again must Sierrra Leoneans let it go free . Justice must be delivered this time for the children and families of all Sierra Leoneans killed with impunity by the NPRC and the SLPP .
Today, scores of people killed by the SLPP government are going to be buried by the government . They have refused to hand over the bodies of the slain people to their families to give them their last funeral rights. Sierra Leoneans are very unhappy with this development but the SLPP probably has something to hide in refusing to hand families the bodies of their murdered family members.
Whatever they are hiding, one thing the SLPP will not be able to conceal, however, are the circumstances under which these people were killed. We all know how this large number of our people got murdered by the SLPP government while protesting against the government and their deaths will be a subject of criminal investigations and charges when the government changes hands.
We , as a newspaper, want to once again extend our deepest condolence to our people for the merciless murder of their family members by President Maada Bio and his tribalistic and fascist government . We want to assure everybody that they have not died in vain and their deaths will be recompensed .
It is only a matter of time. When President Bio leaves power, he will face the full force of the law for these killigs.
