President Koroma Hosts UN Peace Building Commission

President Ernest Bai Koroma today June 13 hosted a high-powered United Nations Peace Building Commission (UNPBC) from New York.

According to the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Isata Kabia, the delegation was in the country to emphasize its role in the peace building process, harness the pledges made for the post Ebola recovery programme, and help sustain the peace process in Sierra Leone, in recognition of what the country has done that makes it a success story.

Welcoming the delegation, the president pointed out that government was focused on doing the right things to develop and transform the country when the twin shocks of the drastic drop in the price of iron ore and the Ebola outbreak occurred. “We were focused on doing the right things when Ebola struck,” he said.
