I LOST MY COLLEGE MATE OF FBC AND WORK MATE AT THE TABLET NEWSPAPER ( 1970s), HON. FRANK KPOSOWA , WHO LOST HIS LIFE IN THIS ROAD ACCIDENT AT MILE 91 TODAY.
MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.

Death comes like an unexpected stranger.
I’ve known Frank Kposowa for years since my days in journalism, about a decade and half ago.
His sad passing has left a gap not just in his family, but in our body politics( him being SLPP and a fine MP) and in journalism.
The least one could search for now is such sad news. RIP senior colleague, may God grant you everlasting peace!

With RUF’s Sam Bockarie leading, the rebels attacked me and staff on the Pademba Road office as editor of the newspaper (which I indeed was, alongside Max). It had to do with a story I had approved of, edited and published; brought in by Mariama.
I told them (well, I actually lied): “I’m the cleaner”. So I picked up a broom. I dusted the files and shelves in a no-nonsense mood. I offered cigarettes (which they had ran out of and were desperate for) and convinced them to wait for the ‘editor’ (Frank).
The RUF demanded the editor.
I fought for my life.
Please don’t expect this very long story now!
This is the guy who in my professional career, influenced the ‘parashutting’ of Claudia, to international recognition beginning with WAJA 1999 alongside Bayraytay.
Cutting the story short, I jumped the perimeter fence of our office and took refuge in a house across the road.
The very old man (probably in his late 70s), opened his gate and he and his wife welcomed me as if they hoped and waited for my rescue.
Kposowa was SLAJ President at the time.
Rest in perfect peace, Sweetheart!
You’re a gem!
Loads of thanks!!!
